Imagine Getting This

Imagine getting this card in the mail from your mother-in-law. When my husband started his own business years ago (which we have since sold) my mom sent him this card. It wasn’t his birthday, it wasn’t Christmas so what was the occasion? As he opened the card I heard him laugh a deep belly laugh and I wondered what on earth did she send him? Read on…

That’s right! She sent him a congratulations card that showed not only her sense of humor, but the love she had for him and wishing him well with his new business. Imagine if my husband had stopped when he saw the outside of the card. He would never have known what the true message inside said.

Can you imaging your enemy standing just behind your left shoulder whispering lies in your ear? How you might as well give up because you’ll never be successful. The image of your enemy rubbing his hands together, smiling with glee at the thought of having victory over you. He’s beaten you down to the point of giving up. By now, your enemy is probably thinking, just one more push.

Suddenly you think you hear another voice. It’s faint but you’re sure you can hear someone else’s voice. You strain against the enemy’s voice to hear the other voice. The voice that is telling you not to give up. Telling you that you are worthy, loved, and cherished. This voice is encouraging you to follow your dream and that you can do it. That you are successful.

Just as my mom sent my husband words of encouragement, so the Lord is constantly doing the same for us when we stop and listen to what He is saying. He tells us to be vigilant and be on guard against the enemy.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

1 Peter 5:8

Our enemy, the devil, is constantly searching for those he can destroy. Jesus tells us in His own words…

Praying! Jesus is praying for you. For me. For every one that the Father gave to Him. Now, that’s one powerful prayer warrior. And if He’s telling you how successful, prosperous, loved, cherished, and special you are, then you can rest assure He means it. The enemy doesn’t stand a chance against Jesus. So the next time the enemy whispers in your ear about your failures, remind him, Who is praying for you and interceding on your behalf. Remember that Jesus loves you so much He isn’t giving up on you and neither should you. God bless!
