The Traveler

A loving Father sent His Son to walk with us through the valleys.

As you travel down the path of life, have you ever looked back and wondered what you would change, if you could? I’m sure we’ve all at some point looked back and had regret whether big or small. We wished we could have done it differently, whatever the it in your life was that led to regret. Join me as we travel through time. A time when all seemed right with world that ended with regret and the journey back to right again. Our journeys are different yet the same.

We each have something in our lives that we probably wish we could change if it were possible. I think that maybe that’s why God takes those regrets and turns them into something good and positive. Imagine for just a moment that point in time that led to regret. We’re not staying there, whatever it was, you can’t change it. Instead look at it through eyes, not your own. Look at it through God’s eyes. Can you feel the sadness in His heart when He saw your pain? Can you imagine Him strumming his fingers on the arm of a chair as He waits patiently for you to open the door to your healing? I can envision Him tapping a joyful tune just for you knowing that once you open the door to your healing, He can enter in and take that hurt and fill that space with the joyful tune He had been tapping out just for you.

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.

Psalm 30:11

I can picture the smile on His face when you called out to Him as you open the door inviting Him inside. The light of His countenance filling the place as He lifts your burden from your shoulders. I can envision His joy as He gives you the joyful tune He had been tapping out as He waited for you.

I can also imagine the enemy not liking it one bit when you opened the door and let God enter inside. I can almost see him plotting, waiting, and ready to pounce once you open the door again. Except this time, when you open the door, the enemy finds that you are clothed in an armor that isn’t easily penetrated. He shoots fiery arrows at you trying to penetrate that armor that now protects you. Instead of looking back with regret, you look back and see a love so powerful it covers the regret, shame, sorrow and pain, with healing and redemption. You stand there in awe as you realize every hurt, every pain, every regret is replaced with a warmth of love and forgiveness so amazing that all you can do is bask in His presence, giving Him the praise for what He has done for you.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:16,17

No matter what happens in this world, no matter what the enemy tries to do to us, one thing will never change, and that’s the unfailing love that the Father has for us. God bless.

  1. I love the picture of opening the door again but only this time we are wearing the armour of God and Satanโ€™s arrows cannot pierce or wound.
What a wonderful God we serve who is faithful and always with us.
    Thanks for sharing this Marie.
    Blessings ๐Ÿ˜Š.
