It’s all over the news COVID-19, it’s reached pandemic level and you hear more and more about all the frightening details and possible outcomes. Businesses are closing earlier than normal, schools are closing their doors choosing to have the students stay home and take online classes in the hope of slowing down the spread of the virus.
Paper products, disinfectants, sanitizers, water, bread, even milk is becoming harder to find. I went shopping over the weekend and noticed the empty shelves where paper products once filled those empty places. I thought to myself how thankful I was that I had purchased those items the week before because we were almost out. People are afraid and hoarding stuff for fear of running out in case of being quarantined. Why? CHAOS, the enemy’s favorite past time. He picked a doozy this time around.
Fear. The enemy can taste, smell and feel it everywhere he turns and he is dancing with joy. I can imagine him with his shoulders scrunched up as he rubs his hands together smiling at the thought of this new playground he has to play in.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
Power over fear
Love to conquer fear
A sound mind to overcome fear.
You feel a nudge in the midst of the chaos and you snap out of it as you begin to press in and pray. Not just pray but fervent prayer pours forth from your lips. Now that will freeze the enemy in his tracks. He’s probably annoyed that your are pushing back instead of cowering in fear.
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:4
By this time the enemy is really annoyed that you are standing your ground and not cowering in fear. And he hears…
When I am afraid I will put my trust in You.
Psalm 56:3
Game over. The enemy didn’t win this time and as he walks away he promises himself he’ll be back with more ammunition. As he walks away you breathe a prayer of praise and thanksgiving for the Lord’s hedge of protection surrounding you. You know this isn’t the last you’ll see of the enemy and you realize your faith grows stronger as you draw nearer to the Lord as you put your trust in God and His Word instead of the lies from the enemy.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
As we continue to monitor the news with updates regarding the virus, I leave you with this:
The peace of God keeps us strong and stable in the middle of the storm. God bless.
So thankful that His peace keeps us in the midst of this storm 🙌🏽
