Really? Joy in our trials? Who wants to be joyful when faced with situations that seem impossible to handle? Yet James tells us that is what we should do. Be joyful in our trials. Sometimes those trials seem so daunting that there is no way to find joy. But we don’t have to look for something in that situation to be joyful about it. We just have to choose to be joyful.
Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
James 1:3
Have you ever prayed for patience and heard people say: Be careful what you pray for? Usually you will experience trials of some sort. And yet in order to receive the patience we ask for; we have to have some sort of trial. When everything is going right and we have no worries it is hard to learn patience. But when faith is tested our reward is patience. The next time you are faced with something that seems overwhelming remember this promise:
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
James 1:4
God bless! ❤
You, and the Holy Spirit, opened my eyes to a new fact, Marie! In our trials we can CHOOSE joy; there doesn’t need to be an acceptable reason. Life doesn’t have to make sense, especially this side of heaven. The joy if the Lord is my strength! Blessings.
